Frequently Asked Questions

Do you sit for cats and other pets, not just dogs?

Yes. pup-e-cise provides pet sitting for dogs, cats, and other household pets. Many clients have multiple animals with different care needs. Our standard visit covers all pets in the home at the base rate. Please contact us for households with more than two pets or with animals requiring specialized care.

Can you care for multiple pets with different needs in the same home?

Yes. Many of our clients have households with multiple pets. This includes dogs and cats together, animals on different feeding schedules, or pets that require separate handling. Our standard visit rate covers all pets in the home. For households with more than two pets or animals requiring significantly different care routines, contact us before booking so we can discuss timing and any rate adjustments.

How many visits per day does my pet need while I’m away?

For dogs, most clients schedule 2–3 visits per day (morning, midday, and evening) and includes feeding, bathroom breaks, and companionship. Cats typically do well with one daily visit. Senior dogs, puppies, and pets with medical needs may require more frequent check-ins. We’ll recommend a visit schedule based on your pet’s age, breed, and routine during the meet-and-greet.

Do you offer overnight stays or just drop-in visits?

No, we don’t do overnight stays. pup-e-cise provides drop-in visits. Most pets do very well with 2–3 scheduled visits per day in their own home. If your pet has specific needs that require overnight supervision, contact us and we can give you a referral to a local pet sitting business that does offer this service.

Can you give my pets their medication?

Yes. pup-e-cise can give your pet oral medications, eye drops, ear drops, and other standard medications during pet sitting visits. During our Meet & Greet we’ll go over all medications, and how they’re given. We also ask that you leave clear instructions and let us know exactly where you keep the medications. There is no additional charge for medication administration. It’s included as part of every visit when needed.

What happens if my pet has a medical emergency while I’m away?

We will contact you immediately and, if needed, take your pet to their veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital. During our Meet & Greet we will ask for your vet’s name and number, an emergency contact, and a signed authorization for emergency veterinary care. Because we have Red Cross pet first aid training, we can provide basic stabilizing care until your pet reaches a vet.

Do you have holiday availability?

Yes, we provide pet sitting on all major holidays. Holiday visits have a $10 per-visit charge. We recommend booking holiday coverage as early as possible. These dates fill quickly, especially Thanksgiving week and Christmas.

What do you need before the first pet sitting visit?

At the meet-and-greet, we’ll go over everything together. Before that visit, it helps to have: your pet’s feeding schedule and food location, any medication with written instructions, your vet’s name and phone number, an emergency contact, and your preferred method of home access. We’ll also ask you to sign an emergency care authorization so we can act quickly if your pet needs veterinary attention while you’re away.
