kit-e-cat care is pup-e-cise’s in-home cat sitting service for Schenectady, Niskayuna, Rexford, Rotterdam, Glenville, Scotia, and Burnt Hills, NY. We provide daily, in-person visits; we do not offer every-other-day cat sitting. Each visit includes GPS-tracked check-in and check-out, feeding and fresh water, litter box maintenance, playtime, and a photo or video visit report sent through Time To Pet.

Cat sitting visits start at $35.

Why We Require Daily Visits for Cats

Many pet sitting services offer every-other-day cat visits to keep costs down. We don’t, because a cat can go from fine to a genuine emergency in a short amount of time. 48 hours between visits could be crucial.  Illness can progress quickly in cats, and daily visits mean your cat sitter has a better chance of noticing a problem before it becomes an emergency.

Daily visits help to catch issues like these early:

  • Urinary blockages and dehydration from vomiting can become life-threatening in under 24 hours, and cats rarely show obvious symptoms until the situation is advanced.
  • A dirty litter box can cause a cat to stop using it within a single day. This can lead to stress, urinary tract infections, or accidents on furniture. Automatic litter boxes can also fail during a power outage.
  • Cats get into trouble in ways that we may never even think to consider. This includes being trapped in closets, tangled in blind cords, or trapped under objects they’ve knocked over.
  • Wet food spoils quickly. Automated feeders or water fountains can malfunction, short-circuit, or tip over.
  • Cats are more social than their reputation suggests, and extended time alone can lead to separation anxiety, depression, or destructive behavior.
  • Daily visits also mean home emergencies are caught within hours instead of days. This could be a leaking pipe, a power outage, a broken furnace or AC unit.

This is the reasoning behind kit-e-cat care’s daily-visit policy: it’s a welfare decision, not an upsell.

Who In-Home Cat Sitting is Good For

kit-e-cat care is for cat owners who are traveling, working long hours, or otherwise away from home and want their cat cared for in familiar surroundings rather than boarding them. It’s a good fit for multi-cat households, senior cats, cats on a medication schedule, and shy cats or cats that are easily stressed.

This service is not the right fit for cat owners who want every-other-day visits to save on cost. pup-e-cise’s daily-visit policy is not flexible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer every other day visits for cats?

No. pup-e-cise requires daily visits for all cat sitting. Medical conditions like urinary blockages and dehydration can become life-threatening in less than 24 hours. Dirty litter boxes can cause a cat to stop using them, and automatic feeders can fail. Daily cat sitting visits can catch problems like this before they turn into emergencies.

Can you give my cat medication?

Yes. Medication administration is included in every visit at no extra charge, whether your cat needs a daily pill, insulin, or another routine treatment.

Do you care for multiple cats or shy, hard-to-find cats?

Yes. Multi-cat households are common, and visits are designed to make sure every cat is seen, fed, and checked on, including cats that tend to hide. If a cat can’t be located during a visit, you’re notified as part of the visit report.

What's included in the visit report?

You will receive a report after each visit. It will include a photo or video, GPS-confirmed check-in and check-out times, and notes on feeding, litter box condition, and anything unusual observed during the visit. This is done through our Time To Pet app.

Do you handle automatic feeders or litter boxes if we already have them?

Yes, but daily visits are still required even if you use automated equipment. Automatic feeders and litter boxes can malfunction or fail, and a daily in-person visit is the only reliable way to catch that before it becomes a problem.

Do you charge extra on holidays?

Yes, there is an additional $10 per visit for the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
  • Easter Sunday
  • Memorial Day
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving and Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
