Why We Require Daily Visits for Cats
Many pet sitting services offer every-other-day cat visits to keep costs down. pup-e-cise doesn’t, because a cat can go from fine to a genuine emergency in a short amount of time. 48-hours between visits could be crucial. Cats are also skilled at hiding illness, so the visible signs a sitter would catch are often absent until a problem has already become serious.
Daily visits help to catch issues like these early:
- Urinary blockages and dehydration from vomiting can become life-threatening in under 24 hours, and cats rarely show obvious symptoms until the situation is advanced.
- A dirty litter box can cause a cat to stop using it within a single day. This can lead to to stress, urinary tract infections, or accidents on furniture. Automatic litter boxes can also fail during a power outage.
- Cats get into trouble in ways that we may never even think to consider. This includes being trapped in closets, tangled in blind cords, or trapped under objects they’ve knocked over.
- Wet food spoils quickly. Automated feeders or water fountains can malfunction, short-circuit, or tip over.
- Cats are more social than their reputation suggests, and extended time alone can lead to separation anxiety, depression, or destructive behavior.
- Daily visits also mean home emergencies are caught within hours instead of days. This could be a leaking pipe, a power outage, a broken furnace or AC unit.
This is the reasoning behind our care’s daily-visit policy: it’s a welfare decision, not an upsell.

Visits start at $35 per 20–30 minute visit.

- Visit reports with photos or video, after every visit
- Care from a consistent, vetted member of the local team
- Feeding and fresh water, as instructed
- Litter box maintenance, kept clean at every visit
- Playtime, cuddles, and ear scratches
- Medication administration, if needed (no extra charge)
- Clean-up of any messes
- Mail pickup, plant watering, and light rotation, or other requests as needed
Who In-Home Cat Sitting is Good For
kit-e-cat care is for cat owners who are traveling, working long hours, or otherwise away from home and want their cat cared for in familiar surroundings rather than boarding them. It’s a good fit for multi-cat households, senior cats, cats on a medication schedule, and shy or cats that are easily stressed.
This service is not the right fit for cat owners who want every-other-day visits to save on cost. pup-e-cise’s daily-visit policy is not flexible.
